SJ seems to be doing pretty well. They are upgrading the X2000 trains, the first one will be ready later this year, as well as the night trains. And they are in the process of procuring 30 new high(er) speed-trains. Today they announced that they are also spending 3 billion kronor on 30 new regional trains that will probably replace loco hauled regional trains and the current double deckers (X40) from 2023.

Previously, SJ has decided to upgrade the existing X 2000 fleet and to invest in some 30 new higher speed trains and upgrading the night trains. Now, SJ's Board of Directors has made a further decision on the acquisition of approximately 30 new regional trains, an investment of approximately SEK 3 billion."
