Hey everyone!

I'm looking for some advice/ a point in the right direction

Does anyone know of any places to purchase train carriage handles and buttons etc (the buttons don't need to be functional)? I'm guessing none of that stuff is really taken the doors and carriages when it's scrapped? I've attached a few reference pictures of what we are looking for.

Also, we are searching for a train toilet. Is this something that we could purchase before it's scrapped?

Thank you in advance!

Holly

For second-hand stuff write to the train owners such as Porterbrook, Eversholt and Angel. Scrapped trains are their asset. Addresses are available on their websites.

If you want new switches they are available from EAO and also try Craig and Derricott. again see websites

I would also consider trying CF Booths again for a toilet / handles and possibly the buttons, as a rake of Ex ScotRail / Great Western (Mk3s) coaches have just arrived there, and the buttons should available from vehicles like the 315 & 321s being scrapped there.

Also, try Raxstar / Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh as well, as similar items may be available from scrapped Ex London Overground 317 EMUs there.

Were those the one involved in that crash recently?
No. They are slam door vehicles that were stored at Dundee.

If you’re referring to the Carmont vehicles, they were moved by road to a scrapyard in Glasgow for disposal.

The stuff on the LT museum shop site is hideously overpriced. 25 quid for a line map. I picked one up at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre for a donation.

Might be worth contacting the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre (or any other preserved railway) for your needs, @hollyclapham . I seem to remember you're involved in film production? They may be able to lend you something in exchange for a donation to their coffers.
