South Devon Railway Gala

[Greenback]

Is anyone here connected with the South Devon Railway?

I've just had a look at their website, and there is a gala on this weekend. I have been on the line about 35 years ago, and I am tempted to make another visit!

Any insiders advice or info on the gala weekend, the line and the area would be much appreciated.

Well, in the vicinity of Buchfastleigh you've got the Otter & Butterfly Farm, then right next door there's Buckfast Abbey (a remarkable restoration project in itself, it was all built by hand by about half a dozen monks). Here's the main Devon Tourist site thingumy. http://www.visitdevon.co.uk/

Excellent, Mrs G is interested in the Abbey and the Otter place. This should keep her amused while I do a couple of journeys and a bit of photography
