Hi,
I have just booked train tickets from Oxted to Exeter St.David's changing at Clapham Junction and catching the South West Trains service from there.
I noticed that First Class was only about a fiver more than standard class so I booked that. I was surprised to find that this did not include any reserved seats and enquiring with a friend who lives down in London, he informs me that SWT do not issue reserved seat tickets as their trains are very often full (some only running with 3 carriages).
I find this quite incredible really that there is a chance we may have to stand up (in first class) if we are unable to get a seat. Does anyone know if SWT only sell the number of first class tickets that relate to seats on the service and has anybody travelled on 09:27 service from CJ to Exeter who could advise me what the chances are of us being able to get a seat.
Also, what else does a first class ticket entitle you to on SWT as opposed to a standard fare?
