A 1 day SYConnect + for £9.20 seems a little expensive for the area covered, shame there is no off peak version like Merseytravel’s Saveaway.

How does the SY ticket compare with other PTE’s day rover peak/off peak tickets?

West Yorkshire DaySaver bus and train is £9.00 and that's only valid off peak (including a bar in the pm peak)
West Midlands nnetwork Day ticket is £9.00 all day and £6.90 off peak (no pm restrictions)

I'd say all of the above tickets offer excellent value for money - particularly when the cost of fuel and parking and the hassle of traffic and congestion are weighed up if considering using the car.

A few years ago I made use of a "Wayfarer" ticket for the Manchester area (again no pm restrictions and a very extensive area covered), and going back even further a "Roundabout" ticket for the Glasgow area.

Both excellent value for money too in my opinion.

A sight aside, but it is worth noting that there is now an all-day version of the West Yorkshire bus & train day rover available via the recently introduced "M Card Mobile" app* at £13.80 (there are slightly cheaper options if you use fewer rail zones but still with countywide bus). This all-day version does not appear to be available from ticket offices or conductors.

*Not to be confused with the MCard app that loads products on to smart cards
