I do like the new Southeastern livery (it matches the signs on the platforms), but I'm a bit concerned for the summer when during hot days the carriages may be slightly hotter than usual.

The dark blue does attract heat, and sometimes the air conditioning of a few carriages can be faulty. I know, as I use those trains five days a week.

Do you have a list of those 465s that have had disabled toilet work done?

Off the top of my head 465909 and 465934 have returned with the work done. 465908 away in December and 465921 went away this weekend just gone to Doncaster for it.

The BREL networkers will be done at Ilford and 465002 went away mid-January.

The remaining 375/6s along with the 375/7s will be done at Derby, however the 375/8s and 375/9s will be done at Ilford.

Saw one at Victoria. I am surprised I have not seen one before. Really nice livery far far batter than the grey they used to have. As for the First and Disabled line being too big - It costs the same whatever size it is as correspondingly less blue paint was used. Its very clear and, in the case of the yellow, I already knew what the colour meant.

The 375s are getting a full on refurbishment, all the seats are removed so the walls and panels can all be repainted along with the poles and the doors and the flooring is also replaced too.

As for peoples comments on Southeasterns Networkers being beer cans, all the Metro fleet suffer at the hands of people who get drunk on them between Dartford and the London Termini (The Greenwich/Woolwich line is notorious) and then they begin trashing the units or trying to set them alight. Honestly if the units are being trashed by the travelling public cos BTP dont patrol the routes then it going to be hard to keep them in pristine condition. When TFL gets the Metro routes, they wont be able to keep their trains in any decent condition as they will be trashed by the scum of South East London

Even the 465/9s are horrible and I believe they stay off the metro routes!

I use 375s and 465/9s most days. Whilst the 375s are generally much nicer I wouldn't say the 465/9s are particularly horrible. They tend to suffer mechanical woes (such as connecting doors jammed open between carriages) rather than vandalism.

They are certainly not as badly kept as the 465 metro units.

465/9s can still pop up on metro services, with the chavs making hay in the 1st class section pretending to be "posh - init".

Don't you know once TfL takes over the metro routes, all anti-social behaviour will disappear overnight with stations manned from first to last train, ticket barriers in use all the time with more revenue protection contractors.

The trouble-makers will go bus to partying on buses.

Anyhow back on topic, I do like the refurbished 375s, the dark blue makes them look a bit classy.

No one suggests things will be perfect overnight but a bit of effort keeping troubles away would help
Good riddance to Go via running metro routes.

Its the decent people living there who suffer. And it puts many off. So why have SE done little for 10 years? Hopeless. They entirely gate one station put of about 15. And that stops at night. No effort in trying to make it safe.

Their cleaner than any of Southern's trains!

In my extensive experience, that's really not true. I'd say that one is no worse than the other. I generally find that Southern trains have more "day-to-day" litter such as newspapers, but less ingrained dirt in visible areas (areas such as those under the seats are unfortunately a different matter). By contrast I usually see at least a bit less litter when I use Southeastern, but a lot more dirty seats/toilets, ingrained muck and disrepair of upholstery. However, both have significant cleanliness shortcomings, largely due to a shortage of time to clean at termini during the day, resulting in problems spiralling out of control, and also due to the bad habits of a number of passengers. In addition, of late I am finding that passengers on Southern mainline/coastal routes and the Oxted lines are far worse than Metro passengers at depositing unsightly litter, whereas it seems that most problems on the Southeastern network occur on the Metro routes, as stated so often up-thread.

I've done my best to tackle these problems with some of my rail industry colleagues, but it's proving really hard. Unless passengers do something significant to change their habits, maybe with the threat of being prosecuted for littering unnecessarily (Byelaws breaches relating to interfering with the comfort of other passengers?), there will be major cleaning challenges for years to come.

I'm guessing the idea of those vinyls is to reduce the amount of graffiti/tags/"artwork" applied to those walls.

in the small toilets the walls have got images of the seaside on them. Kind of pointless.

Perhaps the seaside images are so that passengers on 375s, which this thread is supposedly about, are aware that their refurbished units are at home in Ramsgate

Whilst by no means perfect, the SE Networkers are a *lot* better today compared to 10-15 years ago. In those days just about every piece of glass was heavily scratched, graffiti everywhere, and quite often seat cushions broken or missing.

Considering the intensive use they get, and the scum they carry, I don't actually think they're too bad at all.

The refurbishments will be going until about Mid 2018 I believe.

However they'll start running to Ilford when Derby is no longer able to do the refurbs as Derby will be doing the Crossrail 345s

I believe 5Q58 and 5Q57 are running this Saturday as they've been running most Saturdays

Unfortunately, they don't seem to appear on Realtime trains for my local station, Canterbury West.

Do you mean Class 375s in general, or refurbished ones in particular. The Class 375s are listed as Electric Multiple Units timed for 100mph max, so look for that.
