I love the class 58's, I always hoped that those sent abroad would one day come back home to work, where they belong.According to WNXX the following 58's have been scrapped, with cutting starting in December 2019

I maybe wrong, but I think some were sold to Transfesa.I assume these were still owned by EWS/DB Cargo Rail after all this time?
This month's Railways Illustrated (May 2020) has an "exclusive" on the status of the 58s in Spain. None of the four you list have been scrapped. It does say that 25, 27, 41 and 50 have been dumped at Albacete for a long time. 41 is owned by Transfesa and has engine issues the others still owned by DBCI'm a bit late to this, but does this mean 58025, 58027, 58041 and 58050 are still in existance in Spain seeing as they aren't listed above?
It's good to hear that some survived. I wonder if any of them will ever make it back to the UK (in particular 58050).This month's Railways Illustrated (May 2020) has an "exclusive" on the status of the 58s in Spain. As I understand it 58050 as the last locomotive to be built at Doncaster has been dedicated the National Collection. Whether this means anything in reality I hope soIt's good to hear that some survived. I wonder if any of them will ever make it back to the UK (in particular 58050).

Yeah I saw that, third one along with quite EWSy side doors but I can't make the number name outOf note in that article was a picture of a line of 58s and one of them looks like it still has nameplates on
Only for HS2, and only if it's cheaper than the alternatives.i agree with 58050 being brought back, but what would be the point in returning any more. Is there any work for them to be returned and made fit to run again....
