Speed Restrictions on GA

Not good for Greater Anglia today, several routes are affected by heat related speed restrictions - just days before the Olympics too !!

Changes come in at 12PM and look like they will apply until the end of service.

Are the restrictions in place because of the OHLE still ? As i thought that Network Rail had already changed the wires to stop them sagging.

Reading the twitter feed, they are indeed because of the GE OHL, and it is because the replacement work is not yet complete, so some of the old saggy wires remain. Better to have a robust reduced service than try to run everything at full speed and suffer a tangle.

Note that West Anglia/Lee Valley services are unaffected.
