A quick request for possible splits:

Salisbury to Cambridge, leaving on a Friday afternoon, returning Sunday. Avoiding advance tickets, with a 16-25 Railcard, prioritising cost over time.

Cheers!

Being a former NSE flow it will not be easy to split. I've sent you a PM with one possible idea, but it's too awkward to use to justify posting it in public.

You could use the X5 Coach operated by Stagecoach between Cambridge and Oxford, looking online at www.megabus.com for cheap fares.

And then purchase an Oxford - Salisbury Off Peak return costing £22.20 Route Not London, and travel :

Oxford - Reading - Basingstoke - Salisbury.

The x5 service passes through Bicester. You could consider extending Sonic's idea by buying a ticket to Bicester Town and catching the Megabus from there if you want to make the most of trains without touching London.

Please note that i suggested the megabus site, because the cheap fares are only available Cambridge - Oxford. Normal fares apply for any other Destinations. The X5 is actually operated by Stagecoach in Bedford.
