Hello

Can anyone please advise the quickest and easiest route to journey from St Leonards on Sea (best station would probably be West St Leonards) to Fernhurst.

Obviously the best station to arrive at would be Haslemere, but I would not mind if anyone has another suggestion that is not too far away from Fernhurst

And really I do not want to go via London - so am wondering if something via Brighton or somewhere would work?

Thanks very much

Ther's a variety of routes - and they all take pretty much the same time. The routes avoiding London are cheaper but a few minutes slower

West St L - London Waterloo East/Waterloo - Haslemere

The rest are not London:

West St L - Clapham Junction - Haslemere

West St L - Tonbridge - Redhill - Guildford - Haslemere

Warrior Sq - Brighton - Havant - Haslemere

You may find this bus:

http://www.stagecoachbus.com/PdfUploads/Timetable_17544_70, 71, 92 (Haslemere).pdf useful for the final leg.

It would have to be Warrior Sq - Clapham Junction - Haslemere, rather than West St Leonards, unless the traveller doesn't mind an additional change.

Personally Id go Warrior Square to Brighton, Brighton to Chichester then bus chichester to midhurst and midhurst to fernhurst.
The Bus Station at Chichester is just over the road from the rail station and there are generally through passengers between the 2 buses at Midhurst so they tend to wait. I reckon this would be as fast and considerably cheaper than via London,

Thanks very much indeed all for your speedy and helpful replies! :D

I will do some investigating of the different route.

I presume that it is best to buy individual tickets for each part of the journey?

Thanks again

Not necessarily - for example Warrior Square to Chichester is actually the same fare as Warrior Square to Brighton so splitting it you would pay twice

But from Hastings (probably not West St Leonards) you may be able to get advance tickets to London which might make splitting worth while

If you can be more specific about dates/times it might help
