Service change proposal from 28th September announced: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/east-scotland/service-change-consultation

Service Change Consultation for Monday 28th September
Over the last few months, we’ve made several changes to our services in line with Government guidance and in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our services are currently still running special timetables, and we plan to make further changes to these during August as we ease further out of lockdown, and more of our passengers wish to travel.

Going forward, we also want to prepare for the “new normal” and with that in mind, we’ve reviewed our network of services across Fife, Perth & Kinross, Dundee & Angus and put together some proposed service changes that we'd like to share with you. We're consulting with you, along with local authorities and staff and we're hoping to introduce these changes from Monday 28th September 2020.

Please note that there will be more changes to our services between now and 28th September, in line with Government guidelines, however we are currently only seeking feedback on the proposals below.

If you have feedback on our below proposals (due to take effect from Monday 28th September), simply complete the form at the bottom of this page and your comments will be considered before we decide and announce any confirmed changes.

A full summary of our proposed changes can be found below, along with a link to the proposed timetables (just click on the header to view).

Fife Area
Service 4: Dunfermline – Oakley – Blairhall

We're looking to make some minor timetable changes only.

Service 6: Crombie – Charlestown – Limekilns – Dunfermline

We're proposing to withdraw this service as it was under-performing prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and despite interventions to make the service more attractive, it remains unpopular. We will however continue to run the morning and afternoon school journeys.

Service 8/8A: Dunfermline – Culross / Alloa

This service was extended to Falkirk in partnership with Fife Council and relied on passenger numbers increasing each year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, passenger numbers are expected to stay low for some time, making this extension no longer viable.
We're proposing to re-route service 8A to Alloa to also serve Culross but will no longer service Clackmannan Main Street, staying on Alloa Road.

Service 19: Rosyth – Dunfermline – Halbeath P&R – Cowdenbeath – Ballingry

We're proposing to revise this service to run up to every 15 minutes during the day. The route would also change so the service runs the same route between Rosyth and Ballingry during the day serving Fife Leisure Park and Hill of Beath.
Amazon journeys would be renumbered to 19A and Rosyth Dockyard journeys renumbered to 19D.

Service 23: St Andrews – Cupar – Auchtermuchty – Kinross – Dollar – Stirling

We're proposing to withdraw this service as it was under-performing prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and increasing costs mean that this service operates at a significant loss, resulting in us no longer being able to commercially run the service

Service 747: Halbeath Park and Ride - Ferrytoll Park and Ride - Edinburgh Airport

We're looking to revise this service to run up to every 20 minutes.

Service 92: David Russell Apartments – North Street

We're proposing to withdrawn this service which operates during St Andrews University term time only. It has seen decreasing numbers of passengers over the years and we are no longer able to run the service commercially.

Service X24/X26: St Andrews/Dundee – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Dunfermline – Kincardine – Glasgow

We're looking to revise these timetables with service X24 no longer serving Glasgow Airport.

Perth & Kinross Area
Service 7/A/7B: Scone P&R – City Centre – Broxden – Hillend

We're looking to change the frequency of this service to run up to every 15 minutes.

Service 9: North Muirton – City Centre – Aviva

We're proposing some minor timetable changes to accommodate the changes to service 7.

Service 56: Perth – Bridge of Earn – Milnathort – Kinross

We're proposing to remove the day time commercial journeys due to low passenger numbers on this route.
The morning and afternoon college journeys and afternoon tendered journeys will not be affected.

Dundee & Angus Area
Service 73: Arbroath – Carnoustie – Monifieth – Dundee – Ninewells

We're looking to change the frequency of this service to run up to every 15 minutes from Monifieth to Ninewells.
Further to this there will be changes on 3rd August and 10th August, details of which haven't been announced as yet.

Isn't the 3rd Aug to mostly restore to a near full network. While 10th will see changes to council services in Fife and Angus.

So Fife Council has pulled the plug on this one? What else are they getting rid of?

And so, the withdrawals begin!

I can see First Scotland East not cutting much (Expect 1, 5 and 27) since they were already at near bone. No danger Lothian Country will walk away without something being cut.

So Fife Council has pulled the plug on this one? What else are they getting rid of?

Nothing, else in fact they will have to pay for more replacements.

for Perth services anyway.

Seems pointless to restore the full service just to change them again.

I understand the current agreement with Transport Scotland/ScotGov is meant to be on the basis of a return to normal pre-Covid service levels. Without any additional support after the current agreement runs out next month, I’d expect to see a raft of cuts/withdrawals from all operators. No business can continue to provide 100% service when revenue levels may only be around 50-60%.

I understand ScotGov haven't finalised their guidance for schools reopening next month yet, however: will physical distancing and face coverings be compulsory on open-door school contracts (such as those in Fife and Angus)?

I understand the law states that face coverings are not required on "school transport vehicles", however those school services registered with the Traffic Commissioner are technically public services - a bit of a grey area I thought?

I suspect the proposed cuts to the Strathtay 73 will have protected some deadwood (in the short term anyway), as there will be a hefty reduction in operating costs with a PVR drop of 4 and potentially no conductors (at the expense of increased running/layover times).

Wouldn't it be better to get rid of the Deadwood first? unless they has been decrease in demand to for people to go to the Hospital?

Is they any demand for conductors if they is more passengers use smart cards etc?

The conductors on the 73 were retained as it kept the buses moving at a reasonable pace, provided assistance to the elderly and disabled, and meant that the buses were virtually free of graffiti and vandalism. The buses are currently running without conductors, and even with reduced passenger numbers, they are building up between 5 and 10 minutes of delay by the time buses reach Carnoustie/Arbroath eastbound. The closer to an hour the bus takes for the 11 miles from Dundee to Carnoustie, the more likely people are to take the car, or the train, which is hourly and takes 16 minutes.
Perhaps they could innovate, and divert one of the 39 services an hour off the A92 at Upper Victoria, and head down into Carnoustie - it would cut the journey time from central Dundee by up to 10 minutes (Still 2 fast buses an hour to Arbroath alongside the X7). That would allow the 73 service to continue to Arbroath, and the depot, on a half hourly basis.
And if they wanted to be really cheeky, renumber - Service 6 to Monifieth, Service 7/7A to Arbroath, with the 39 renumbered as 8/8A... Alongside Xplore Dundee, the services to Broughty Ferry would become the 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10...

Unfortunately, they do not have, according to replies on Facebook, the resources to restart the 23 from St Andrews to Stirling.
The 8 service isn't going to Falkirk.
The X24 isn't going to Glasgow Airport.
The 7 in Perth is running every 15 minutes.
The 73 is doing the same.
In fact, everything that they were consulting on doing in September will be applied from the 3rd of August by the looks of it...
Source, please! Link and quotation, as required by forum rules. Thanks :)

Timetable Changes from Monday 3rd August

24 Jul 2020

We’re continuing to follow the Scottish Government's route map for COVID-19, and the time has come to further increase our services across East Scotland.

From Monday 3rd August, we'll be further increasing our services, and some routes that haven’t run over the last several months will return to the roads.

Below you’ll find the full list of services running from Monday 3rd August, along with links to the timetables – simply click the service number to view the timetable.

From Monday 10th August, there will be some minor changes due to Local Council tender changes, and information on these will be available ASAP.

The capacity on board our buses will remain reduced to allow for easier social distancing, which means you may still see a "BUS FULL" sign on the bus you wish to board. If you see this, please wait at your stop for the next available service.

Remember - it's still mandatory to wear a face covering when travelling with us. Exceptions do apply and more information can be found on our FAQ page.

Don’t forget – we’ve proposed some further changes from Monday 28th September and you can have your say on these by visiting our consultation page. You have until Friday 7th August to leave your feedback.

Below you'll find our links to the timetables valid from Monday 3rd August, across Fife, Perth & Kinross, Dundee and Angus. Remember to check this page or use our journey planner before you set off as updates may be made from time-to-time

Please be assured that the well-established and rigorous cleaning regimes on board our buses will remain in place at all times, and that contactless payment is available on all our vehicles.

Not exactly, No6 is still running while the No19s are still every 10mins, No7 in perth is still two routes, No8 are still doing Culross..

The company has made clear the full service has not come back, and in fact the timetables postage were the ones mistakenly put up for the constitution.

The fleet changes have started happening in-time for the 3rd August changes:

19661 Aberhill to Dunfermline
27525 Perth to Dunfermline

I expect many more to take place over the next few days.

I see , was gonna go a ride on it tomorrow , did do it once. Any replacements for it?

I doubt fife council will provide any replacement, since 64 and 94 provide cover most of the route. However we might see 66 extend to kinross?

On the other side its tricker however the simplest would be to extend H2 to kinross.

3 or 4 more are to follow in the next few days

Aberhill will be Scania central by the 10th August

What are Blairgowrie needing 4 or 5 brand new MMCs for? I couldn't see any upcoming changes which would need them unless its increase capacity now that it's been reduced to 1 metre on public transport.
