Bus route 52 in Sheffield (Woodhouse-Hillsborough) and route 192 in Manchester (Hazel Grove-Manchester) has been granted green funding to buy new hybrid double deckers. See press release link above.

Sheffield's E400Hs will replace 12 DAF SB220s and 7/8 MAN E300s.
Manchester's will be a direct replacement for E400s.

Interestingly, Lincoln independent PC Coaches have won funding for two electric-hybrid double deckers. Their local service work is entirely run by Optare Solos, Wright Streelites and a Scania L94 single decker - so not sure what they're planning on using them on!

Are there any available Stagecoach Manchester vehicle comparison records that can show how the new-type hybrid fleets on both the 42 and 43 routes compared against the previous allocation that ran on both of these services ?
