Hey guys, I’m due to fly from Stansted airport in a couple of weeks, does anybody know if there’s a shortcut in the terminal to avoid the lengthy walk around all the duty free shops and go straight to the departure lounge? I’m gonna be timing it tight and I wanna get through as quick as possible!

Stansted Express first class gives you FastTrack for free, by the way, I used it last time I was there (long enough ago that both airlines I used to/from Alicante have gone bust).

Wow! That diagram paints a thousand words. Looks even worse than the layout of the showroom area in most IKEA stores.

Can you cut through the toilets?? That map kinda makes it look like it’s possible
I don't think so... the fact there's two sets of each type of toilet makes me think where I've drawn a dotted line below is a solid wall with no through access?

There is a difference between just Fastrack for the Security. This door is (was) labeled up as Fastrack plus which required an additional payment on top of just regular Fastrack.

I say was because this door has been signed up as out of service, and the Fastrack plus product removed from sale for quite some time (over a year), owing to construction work in the terminal.

Interesting.

Stansted has a shortcut before 04:00. If you go through security, then walk along the corridor to the circular area before the entrance to the duty free shop, you'll see toilets in front of you. There's a sign for "fast track plus", but these doors are usually open before that time in the morning. You can then jump straight through without going through the shop.

Stansted isn't currently offering the Fast Track Plus system, so it's possible that the doors are open all the time, but I haven't passed through there after 04:00 recently.

Does that mean you can use normal GA to Stansted Mountfitchet and then buy a first class ticket one stop to get fast track, or does it have to be the whole way from Liverpool St?

Greater Anglia withdrew first class on most of their services as part of the fleet renewal, and now only sell first class fares for journeys that involve their London-Norwich services.

It's therefore not possible to buy first class fares from London to Stansted anymore.

Oh.
So the implication is that the Stansted Express first class fares don't exist and therefore FastTrack is no longer included, right?

No, only through the (former?) Fast Track Plus doors. As far as I gather, the doors have been placed out of use because of the lengthy refurbishment of the toilets.

Having said that, I've read several reports on a Polish language forum that the doors are in heavy use by staff, so it's not a terrible idea to have a look to see if the doors are open anyway.

Shame. That would be a real benefit to the railway to sell it included. Perhaps they can partner with the airport to sell it as an add on from ticket machines.

Yeah, you'd think this would be a no brainer to have it included with the ticket. To be honest, I'm quite surprised that no-one has thought about creating a fast track route from the train to the plane with a separate security control.

Included, maybe not now there isn't a first class section, but as an add on defo. The dedicated train to plane fast track would be great - but I'm not sure the business plan to install it would pass the muster.
Can we really envisage a lot of passengers that are travelling on an LCC using it?
