Hi all

the broadcast date for the Inside out East Midlands edition on Stapleford railway is this Monday 31st October @ 19:30. Should have some archive 60s footage of the railway and park plus the summers public running featured

If you cant access the BBC1 East Midlands transmitters and have Sky, you should be able to find it in the channel range 970-988 depending on location

it will also be available on I player at this link after broadcast

I wonder if they'll mention Lod Harborough's Curve.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syston_and_Peterborough_Railway

The old duffer would be turning in his grave.

yes we did discuss although i dont know if its in or left out

There was also the little known diversion around the park that was tried first to the south west of the park. They got as far as boring a shallow tunnel under cuckoo hill covert till it fell in p!!! his lordhip off even more:D.
The tunnel was quickly abandoned and back filled but the portal brickwork is visible in the woods if you know where to look
I doubt anyone has it on any abandoned tunnel lists.
Then they ended up taking the Northerly to East route on the famous tight curve till years later, it was eased and aligned onto parkland.
Route and bridges for the curve are still there today
Always nice when we run the 1/5th saint along the back straight 1/4 mile from a passing and vissible GWR Hall excurssion

If you look very carefully you can still see the line of it on Google Earth and the M&GNR branch
