Newton Abbot station was also built to the designs of the Chief Architect of the Great Western Railway, Percy Emerson Culverhouse.

May I intercede here to say it was the currently-existing station buildings, not the station, that were designed by Culverhouse, as the station itself was opened far earlier by the South Devon Railway.

Teignmouth was also opened in 1846 by the South Devon Railway.

Quite correct ... my poor choice of words!

Mr H F Kelley was the Station Master at Teignmouth between 1925 and 1928; afterwards he became the Station Master at Plymouth North Road, which is now just known as Plymouth.

The present Shipley station was built between 1883 and 1892 and was designed by the Midland Railway's Chief Architect, Charles Trubshaw. He was also responsible for the original station buildings at Langley Mill, which were demolished after the original closure in 1967 and replaced by modern shelters upon the station's reopening in 1986.

Wakefield Westgate appeared in the TV series "A Touch of Frost" as Denton Station. In the film "A Hard Day's Night", the Beatles arrive in London at Marylebone station - even though there aren't actually any connections to Liverpool!

Edinburgh Waverley is called at by all LNER Scottish services. Some of these continue to, or start from, Aberdeen, as well as one a day to and from Glasgow Central, another to and from Inverness, and another to and from Stirling.
