    Redhill is the start of the North Downs Line, where a mixture of stopping, semifast and fast Great Western Railway services head towards Reading.

    Edinburgh Waverley also sees long distance services reverse.

    Class 323 EMUs are operated by West Midlands Trains (on the Cross-City, Chase and Rugby-Birmingham-Stafford lines) and Northern Rail (on the Glossop, Crewe-Manchester and Stafford-Manchester lines).

    Hyde North was also the scene of a rail accident in 1990.

    Despite its former name (Hyde Junction), Hyde North never had a platform on the Glossop Line as trains call at nearby Flowery Field instead.

    Eastbrook is also a DfT category F2 station that was opened by British Rail in 1986.

    Eastbrook is served by trains heading to major destinations, such as Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare, Barry Island and Bridgend.

    Cardiff Bay is also another Valley Lines station that is the final and only station at the end of a branch line.

    Arnside also has a mechanical signal box adjacent to the station.

    Cark and Cartmel was also opened by the Ulverston(e) and Lancaster Railway.

    Until 2016, First TransPennine Express used to continue through Cark & Cartmel to Manchester Airport.

    Manchester Victoria also has both National Rail and Manchester Metrolink platforms.

    The line from Manchester Victoria passes through several closed stations (Miles Platting, Park, Clayton Bridge and Droysden) until Ashton-under-Lyne.

    Cosham is also situated near a Triangle Junction.

    A few limited Southern Trains "West Coastway" services to Southampton Central travels via Eastleigh rather than Swanwick.

    Another busy station served by seven different TOCs (since TfW began regular services over the Halton curve) is Liverpool Lime Street.

    Bristol Temple Meads is another station with 3 words in it whose 3 character code is the first 3 letters of its name.

    South Western Railway trains start their services here to London Waterloo.

    Waterloo is the busiest station in the UK by passenger numbers. By number of train movements, the busiest is Clapham Junction.
