The first railway to reach Princes Risborough was the Wycombe Railway, which opened its Oxford extension from High Wycombe as far as Thame on 1st August 1862.

Ince is another station on the Manchester to Southport Line which is not served by semi-fast services.

Warrington West is on the southerly of the two lines between Liverpool and Manchester. Responsibility for the line changes to Transport for Greater Manchester between Birchwood and Glazebrook.

Llanelli station also participates in the PlusBus scheme where train and bus tickets can be bought together for a cheaper price.

Georgemas Junction is another junction station where all trains from one direction reverse to continue their journey despite the station not having any bay platforms.

The Barton Line joins the South Humberside Main Line at Cleethorpes; this terminates at Doncaster, passing through Healing on the way.
