My son is wanting an Excel/CSV list of all stations along with their co-ordinates to be able to import into Google Maps. We've had a search but can't find anything with co-ordinates. Does anyone know of a spreadsheet which can be downloaded?

Many thanks.

UPDATE: Managed to find one

You can only load 1,000 pins/places into Google Maps, I thought? Anything more and you need to generate the .kml file yourself (as I have to).

Were station coordinates included with the latest estimates of annual passenger usage statistics (per station) issued by the ONS last month?

No - it has OS grid references, not lat & long.

Try the attached Excel file (not allowed to upload a .csv version, sorry). It's an extract of one of the files I use, open stations at 31 March 2020 only (apart from IBM, which I accidentally deleted (I know nothing calls there but it isn't formally closed)). Anything opened after then you'll have to add yourself.

Thanks for clarifying, although I'm a little surprised that OS grid references can't used as map co-ordinates.
If you're using Google to plot points it has to be two separate values in the .kml file (and, I think, in the My Places thing in Google Maps).

Although now SOLVED, you may find the info here (on sub-pages) helpful: http://www.railwaycodes.org.uk/stations/station0.shtm
Your entry for Batley under "Stations not served by their SFO" is wrong, unless I've missed something. Northern is the SFO and the hourly stopping service to Man Vic & Wigan via Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley calls there hourly. TPE now run the hourly Huddersfield stopper.

Are you thinking of Cottingley and/or Ravensthorpe? The TPE Huddersfield service calls there but the Northern Calder Valley service generally doesn't.

Thanks for your interest. I think this is covered by the second half of the entry's note: it was almost only served by TPE (except for an odd service) but there is now a full service all day. Or have I misunderstood you?

Probably, a bit of both. Re-reading what you've written in that note, you are correct if you only look at services to/from Huddersfield. When you take the Calder Valley services run by Northern into account, then Northern services do call at Batley Station (managed by Northern) for most of the day - so you are incorrect. The Calder Valley and Huddersfield services have both been running for years, so there was no time when no Northern service omitted Batley during most of the day.

But what you wrote in that note does apply to Cottingley and Ravensthorpe stations, which are both managed by Northern and almost wholly served only by the TPE stopper.

Right reason, wrong station(s). I checked with RTT in case I was going mad(der).
