I believe Bere Alston and Ferrers have lots of early BR signage (railway-era?).
Bere Ferrers has replica totems. Other items there are associated with the small private railway. Bere Alston has a green ground frame plate which was installed in the 1990s. Along with others in the old Railtrack western zone these ground frame signs were in the appropriate former BR regional colours.I believe Bere Alston and Ferrers have lots of early BR signage (railway-era?).
Fabulous; it's a wonder it hasn't yet been "added to someone's collection"Not on a station, however this BR era sign still survives at the end of the now disused Chalmerston branch in Ayrshire
Image shows a sign reading “No British Rail locomotives to pass beyond this point”

Sweet thanksIf you mean pre-privatisation then yes it certainly has the appearance of a BR-era sign.
Did regional/intercity have its own signage widely used or was it just NSENice Regional Railways no parking sign at Cleethorpes
Their styles were used widely enough. Generally Intercity were pretty good at putting their branding on stations, although there might have been nooks and crannies around the place that they missed (the back of the bin yard etc). Regional Railways were more hit and miss because they had more stations to do and some of the lesser-used ones were not a priority to spend money on.Did regional/intercity have its own signage widely used or was it just NSE
Are there many photos of these signs, as I’ve tried looking for them but can’t find any photos online…Their styles were used widely enough. They tended not to be photographed widely as we were all still on film cameras and most people considered it a waste of film! There were a couple of books published in the 1990s looking at signage and infrastructure which you might be able to track down. Are there many photos of these signs, as I’ve tried looking for them but can’t find any photos online…

Regional varied from plain white to blue stripe or blue stripe with the 3 white lines. I don't immediately recall Intercity signage on the WCML just plan RA1 though Intercity West Coast had a burgundy theme to it so perhaps I didn't notice !Did regional/intercity have its own signage widely used or was it just NSE
The running-in-boards at Plymouth still have the InterCity swallow on them.Did regional/intercity have its own signage widely used or was it just NSE
That's the sign I mentioned earlier. 1970s-80s, before BR shut down its parcels conveyance.https://flic.kr/p/2mvhzAG does this count? Found at Paddington a few years back unsure if this is pre nationalisation

Ah thank you! I still can’t find any photos of either (although I think I’ve see a regional sign in a book lately) but thanks for the description. The running-in-boards at Plymouth still have the InterCity swallow on them.

Intercity station names had maroon lines top and bottom. Regional Railways had a blue stripe at the bottom with a few white lines at the end. Occasionally some also said Regional Railways on them too.
That was a recent restoration, though, wasn't it? With made to order new signage?Downham Market is almost entirely Network SouthEast signage, and also has red lamp posts.
Pretty sure there's one of these just outside Lewes Station. Might be BR Southern Region if not Southern Railway.I know it's not a station, and is not British Rail, but I took a picture years ago (so can't find it right now) of a sign in Croydon instructing people not to trespass on the railway. From the Southern Railway.
Yup. Kings Lynn got replica BR Eastern Region signage at around the same time. That was a recent restoration, though, wasn't it? With made to order new signage?
At least one bit is original, the signal box name board at the the other end to the WAGN sign. That was a recent restoration, though, wasn't it? With made to order new signage?
