I was wondering how many stations there are on the UK rail network that are situated quite near to a tunnel? I don't mean underground stations like Liverpool Central or Glasgow Queen Street LL by the way, just stations out in the open that have been built by a hill, etc.

Here's a few for starters:-

Kings Cross
Marylebone
Bangor
Dover Priory
Ore
Sowerby Bridge

Does Severn Tunnel Junction count? Dore near Sheffield? Edinburgh Waverley. Haymarket.

I also think it depends on the definition of 'near'.

New Pudsey, wide bridge first then tunnel.

Ingrow West (KWVR) is so close that with a 6 coach rake the engine stops just before the tunnel mouth on trips to Oxenhope.

Woolwich Dockyard (between two tunnels), Woolwich Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Sydenham Hill, Drayton Green, Finchley Road and Frognal, Hampstead Heath, Hackney Downs, Hadley Wood (also between two tunnels), Guildford, Knockholt, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge Wells, Wadhurst, Rochester, Strood, Chatham, Gillingham and Dover Priory are ones I can think of.
(AJM580 has mentioned a couple of these aready.)

Winchester Chesil, if closed stations count.

The tunnel is now blocked off at one end by a rifle range and the council use it to store wheelie bins.
