LTM Heritage Ops manager Andy Barr gave a talk to the LTM Friends recently, a fascinating insight into recent operations (and sadly their rather limited future).

Preferably at its terminating stations, maybe at Earl's Court or Hammersmith in my opinion. Also, I think you should come on Sunday to avoid travelling with South Western Railway whilst strikes goes on Saturday.

ok thanks, was planning to come by car :)
was also hoping to view it at "more of an underground type station" rather than quite an opened space one
guess this will be the route

You won’t find an a Underground-type station to see it at... because it doesn’t go through any. The route is Ealing Broadway to High Street Kensington and return - that’s all at surface station, perhaps bar Earl’s Court and Hammersmith which have an overall roof and High Street which is partially covered on the terminal roads (the special is booked platform 4).

Unlike the post above I’d suggest you avoid the terminal stations - they will be extremely busy with those riding the trains, and accordingly the most likely to have crowd control implemented. Remember that the railway remains live and operational throughout the trips.

I’d suggest somewhere like Ravenscourt Park or Stamford Brook to watch the train go past - it’ll be on the move and they’re less busy with usual traffic.

Can’t suggest where to park I’m afraid, not my bit of London.

The ECS move from Ruislip has been delayed, due to a problem with Sarah Siddons. It is now en route, currently at Rayners Lane down towards Ealing.

105 mins down apparently. Does that make it likely the whole rest of the schedule today will be put back by that?

All journeys are planned to run, but with delays. Some of the delay should be able to be clawed back, but it will depend on service conditions and time taken to water the engine, as well as crewing parameters.

How's it doing for time now? I'm going to try to snap it while on the way to do some shopping elsewhere...

Sorry for the pedantry...but E.C.S is a National Rail/ BR term. On the Underground we just say “Empty” (written as “Ety” in the timetable).

ECS is most definitely used in some parts of LUL service control. “Sorry for the pedantry”.

Cheers good to hear. I've got a bit of time before heading to the Queens Club tennis final- any suggestions for a good place to see them not far from West Ken/Barons Court? Thx
