Still displayed by the barrier line to platforms 9-11 at Kings Cross this evening, almost a week after the changes went live. About right for GTR...

I had a few minutes before my train departed so asked the staff manning the barriers if they were aware of the changes. They told me they hadn't been briefed but were aware of the changes....

Thanks for posting; as now no longer a regular commuter this would have passed me by. Good news about the removal of evening restrictions on the Off-peak; saves faffing around with the more expensive Workaround!

However, I feel a trip to the Ticket Office coming on........

I'm totally bamboozled by the Chart. Sorry to appear dim. Are the new Super Off-Peak tickets only available at the stations quoted to the destinations as stated?
So if I wanted to travel say, from Biggleswade to London Terminals what ticket would I buy? Or if I travel from Huntingdon to London Thameslink then I can't take the tube over to Moorgate?

The BR Fares site is very useful at explaining all this. If you enter your intended destination station in London, you will see all tickets which are defined to that station (including to any Station Groups which the destination is a member of).

I’d already spotted it and have checked the position at Hatfield- all 3 are available. I’m hoping to get to the Meet the Manager at Kings Cross tomorrow and am planning to query the formatting of the table. Will report back tomorrow evening!

Have been advised that all three tickets are each available from all the listed stations - should be correct at ticket machines and websites. The page you quoted will be reviewed and hopefully updated.

Presumably they come a cropper and get chinged up if on a train which arrives at St. Pancras. Not sure about Kings Cross platforms 9-11, presumably the barriers will have to accept tickets routed LNER only as you could get there via the country end of platform 8 or the archway near the buffers of platform 9.

Speaking as a person who gets a super cheap ticket for almost every journey I make, sometimes comically so... If it brings in enough new railway travellers, bring it on. Seems astonishingly unlikely from where we are now, though.

I queried this with some GTR barrier attendants lasts year, mainly because the Any Permitted fare is shown with a routeing of '.' on the TVMs at Stevenage so hardly simple to use or understand. They told me they'd never issue a penalty to a passenger travelling on a GTR train with an LNER only ticket.

    Yeah, right!

The LNER Only fares seem not to show up on the TransPennine Express website.

That's likely because no LNER services are calling at Stevenage this weekend, due to the engineering works between Biggleswade and Peterborough (I spotted you did a search for tomorrow/Saturday 12th Jan).

The LNER machine won't show them because there are no LNER services.

The 6 GTR machines show them as the most prominent option. You need to select ‘.’ as the route for the Any Permitted fare.

These LNER only fares really ought to be scrapped from Stevenage.

The problem is the fact that the ANY PERMITTED fare is routed 01000 (.), not the LNER ONLY fare.

It's far more than two, I'm just trying to illustrate that this isn't an isolated case.

'Two wrongs don't make a right' is a proverb. It's not intended to be taken literally.

I doubt that Deerfold actually thought that only two cases existed.
