Last thursday while walking my dog i seen a Drs 66 on a single flask working, is this a first ?, i was quite gutted (no cam)

It is possible that DRS are strating to use the newer 66's on workings, rather than the 20's or 37's, which would strike me as odd because 2 Bluestar 20's are more powerful than one 66... (2000hp as opposed to the 1800 by the 66's)

It's more to do with having a spare loco in case of failure. Flask's aren't that heavy ;)

Single 66's have occasionally been used on flask trains given that there's less chance of them failing than with older locos.
