Long gone now, but Northern used to have services that went to " No Place" and " Coal Burns", any weird or unusual destination screens in you areas?
That's what happens with different languagesI'm always intrigued by the stop announcements and displays on the Arriva Wales number 5 route (Bangor to Llandudno) where a surprising number are called completely different things in English to Welsh.
Taking my own thread off topic, anyone who asked me how long the next bus would be would get the reply " same length as this one"."Is this bus going to Jump" used to be the Barnsley equivalent of Liverpool's "Is this bus going to Speke"
(the old 326 was replaced by the 66 and "Is this bus going to Hoyland" isn't as interesting")
I might have imagined this but I seem to recall a service to " Pity Me" in Durham.
You are probably right, I lived in the area for a while but it was a long time ago. They’d have gone through Pity Me but can’t recall anything terminating there or featuring on a screen.

Bury Corporation (and Selnec and GMT) had an exotic short working to Jericho on the Rochdale route, and before that with its first electric tramway.
It may have been a Part Route but Pity Me is a real village not too far from Wideopen.
Wasn't there a Womens Institute at Loose? (Please say there was!)Similarly Maidstone buses going to Loose.
