Saw it, ironically since it's name is City of Stoke on Trent, at Stoke today, at about 1940. Made a decent change from the normal shiny silver stuff passing through!
Presumably on your way home from the GCR or summat? (I dread to think of any other reason why somebody would want to visit the place!)

Saw 3 times today, once at Euston, once overtaking my 5-mph-supposedly-fast-train near Willesden, and later that evening heading out of London.

Not sure, but I hear the driver has to wear a pair of pants over some tights and a red cape.

A sense of humour may be required when reading this post ;)
Damn my lack of photo editing software! I'd have posted a hilarious image involving a VWC Pendodildo driver in a Superman outfit, with the caption of 'Virgin's new driver uniform'! I'll leave it to your imagination.

As for why anyone would visit Stoke-on-Trent, I've been there a couple of times, once stepping off the 90-pushed, DVT-led MK2 set from Stockport. I'd have preferred to stay on it to Birmingham, but connections were not exactly there for my onward bash to South Wales or Hereford (can't remember where I went exactly on that trip), on another trip once after deciding I didn't want to put up with just a single 153 on Crewe to Nottingham or Derby, so alighted at Stoke to tick it off!

As for the Superman-liveried Pendodildo, it looks super swanky! I want to see it in the flesh!

FFS - Everything bar Silverlink Metro is showing as Departure Delayed. Something has happened at Bletchley. This train has not showed up once I've gone after it, and its looks like today is no exception.
It will be in this livery for about 6 months so plenty of time to see it

From nationrail

Train services between Bletchley and London Euston are being disrupted by a tesspass incident in the Leighton Buzzard area.
Alterations and delays up to 45 minutes can be expected.
There is currently no estimate for a normal service to resume.
