The Railway Jobs & Careers forum started in November 2008 as a subforum and was moved onto the front page of the forum some time later. Since that date we have seen a huge increase in posts and new threads made in this forum. Many of these users only visit the forum to seek advice and we want to make sure they are left with a good impression and top quality advice that they need.
Over the past few years the forum staff have been sent many messages of thanks from people because the advice they have been given has lead to them securing their dream job in the railway industry! Other people have shared advice for existing employees or it has just been an opportunity for those to ask what life is like at other locations on the railway.
However, given the growth in this forum, the forum staff team haven't always been able to keep up to date in moderating this forum as much as we would like, and many people are reluctant to report posts in this section. There is also the issue with a tiny number of new members' posts remaining on moderation for a while and not picked up on by the staff team as they are incorrectly identified as Spam. We are therefore seeking an existing member to take up a support role in the Jobs & Careers forum.
This is not a Moderator/Administrator position, but the person appointed will have selected moderation powers.
The selected candidate will ideally have, or be able to, attend forum meets and/or meetings on an infrequent basis, as well as be able to communicate with other staff by instant messenger such as Google Hangouts or Facebook.
