Hi,

Link to the video (please select high resolution):

I spent a busy but fantastic weekend on Gotthard Pass and at Lake Iseo with three steam engines together more than 300 years old. First, C 5/6 2978 "Elephant" charged up the Gotthard northern ramp from Erstfeld to Göschenen just as the "Alpabzug" festival took place at Wassen (cattle returning to the valley from Alpine pastures). A quick visit to the Dampfbahn Furka-Bergstrecke at Realp with departure of rack steamer HG 3/4 #1 was possible - of course all by rail except for the bus to Wassen. I changed to Brescia via Milan for the night.
Heritage electric E.646.158 took over "Iseo Express" Sunday morning to Rovato, from where steamer 740.278 continued to Pisogne. Unlike in April, Trenord ALn 668 Fiat railcars operated, not just Stadler GTWs. A nice addition was DE 520-016, a former Czech class 753 "diving glass" diesel, with the "Treno dei Sapori" gourmet special.

Late afternoon return of "Iseo Express" Pisogne (in the background) - Brescia hauled by 740.278 (Officine Meccaniche Milano / built 1920) on September 15 2019 at Toline. Edited out a few small distracting elements.
