Yesterday saw the demise of operation of these two routes by publicly owned East London Buses (aka London Transport Buses), formed to salvage the operations of Harris Bus (fantastic livery-cr*p company!).

Route 128 (nee 129 extended-they should have kept it as 129 and withdrawn the recently introduced 128 IMHO) has passed to Arriva, and is being operated by 05 plate VLA131-138 (at least) from DX 'garage' in Barking. Prior to this, these vehicles were used on the 275 and 20, and occasionally on the 103. The 275 and 20 have reverted to the cascaded VLW Geminis, and the 103 to the ex SF Alexander bodied Olympians, long may they live!

Route 150 has started with brand new 55 plate Volvo Gemini Eclipse 'deckers in the range VNW32661 to 667. They are operated by First London from its Rainham 'container base' depot, so they will not stay clean for long!

A couple of weeks in, and Route 128 vehicles are up to VLA143 (at least). VLA141 is 05 plate, whereas VLA143 is 55 plate.

On the 150's, First are now withdrawing the VNW Eclipses after 21.00 and substituting single deck Caetano Darts (with the odd Marshall bodied Dart). They have no route blinds, but carry a double-sided board with route number and destination.

Seventy year old technology still works!

Not anymore! Stagecoach has recently taken over route 103 from thier North Street base using a batch of new Tridents. Some of the Alexander Ls have now gone onto school duties replacing Metrobuses (until these are replaced by DLAs, when school servcies are required to be low floor)

At last! Yesterday, saw a Caetano Dart on the 150 with blinds for the route. Only one of the four I saw in service though!
