I don't think it was announcing any TOC.
ah, like a video I watched on YouTube of Cardiff Central with its brand new Atos Glyn & Ruth system in September 2003 - Wales and Borders Trains services were announced without a TOC and Valley Lines services were announced with "Valley Lines"!

We should probably get back on topic :) At least one of the articles I read mentioned "new toilets" - are they really new toilets...? Are they to solve the apparent unreliability of the original ones which went out of order too often...?

Other than 107 and 003 which were launch wraps, all 27 175s are being painted and internally refurbished (both at the same time per unit) at Alstom Widnes, and this will continue through 2020

This was 175006 apparently - so we now have 002 and 006 refurbed.

Just seen a 175 go through Frodsham on this - http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O26766/2019/07/30/advanced

Couldn’t catch which one it was but looked very shiny! Not sure if it’s just a repaint or a full interior refurb too?

175006

Edit - didn’t see @Tom Maddox ’s reply. But yeah, it was 006

Edit 2 -

Theres a 5T54 in platform 2 in Chester now. Heading for Cardiff canton. I’m just looking at Traksy and the formation isn’t coming up on Genius so I can’t get the number, but I’d guess it’s 006 heading for canton. Leaving Chester at 1435.

Edit 3 - scrap all the above, according to RTT, it passed platform 5 non stop.... so it’ll be buried into the main building on platform 4!

Next question is, which unit replaced 006 at Widnes?
Just been through all the 175’s on genius and there’s nothing going to Widnes and nothing’s been there today. So it’s either already there or hasn’t been replaced yet. There are some units with nothing allocated to them so it could be one of those.

Cheers,
I thought they drove the next one there and brought the completed one back.

Any news on the TfW 153 that is being PRM modified and interior refurbed? It hasn't been out in service since being delivered from GWR back in April

TfW twitter saying 2 175s currently at Widnes being refurbished. I know it’s not the most reliable source of information but thought I’d share anyway

Welcome to the Form. They will work anywhere across the TFW Network with the rest of the fleet. As the previous poster has said, one would not know until the early hours of the day itself as allocations are made during the night. They could be found anywhere between Holyhead, Llandudno, Manchester Picc and Airport, Cardiff and Milford Haven and a lesser number to Maesteg., Cheltenham and Ebbw Vale.

If you want to ask in respect of them on the day, it would be preferable to post your query here:-

There is a fully repainted 175 sat outside Alstom Widnes this afternoon. I can see it from Hatton’s...

Thank you all for the info, I will hopefully be trying to see one on Friday!

Is there any way I can check timetables on the day to see what units are running where, or would it be best to post on the above thread?

You could Tweet TFW early in the day. They are very god at providing the info.

Tweeting is the best bet as someone is always there, but if I'm in and I see the post I don't mind having a look.

That can't be a 175 diagram, it shows it working with a 158 and 150!

I know !!! I think the person on Twitter meant one of the new rebranded outside rather than inside.

My point is really someone on here said the other day theu weren't always so keen on dishing out individual train info. This sort of shows theu clearly don't mind. Even if It is wrong!!
