150254+142075 were seen at Pengam heading north on the 1238 to Bargoed, 1252 or so back down?

143616+150240 were noted at 0935 heading to Penarth from Cardiff Central.

143624 stabled at Rhymney.

I think I saw one more 142, with 153362, on the 1000/1002 from Caerphilly heading south, but I forget which one it was. Didn't pay too much attention if I'm honest, I was on 769003 and enjoying it!

The 142s are all due to be gone by Saturday, should be none left for the new timetable. The 143s are said to be being kept for 'a few months' but nothing more specific, they will likely last until the last 769s are reliably in use.

They may have been bumpy, loud and made that horrible screeching noise whenever they stop but I grew up with them so they're the first trains i knew! I'm gonna miss them in a strange way lol

Those from GWR were transferred back to Northern but they will all have been withdrawn from service across the network by the end of today

Indeed - was fantastic knowing when to head out today to see them (and indeed that I should head out today, before it's too late..)

All the ones I saw were still on the diagrams listed above (the 12:22 from Barry Island, 12:36 from Treherbert, 13:40 Central to Treherbert, 13:22 Barry Island)

Although it was said above that the 142s were supposed to finish last weekend, I don't think anyone has suggested that the 143s are going just yet.

And anyway there were 142s out yesterday as well as 143s.
