Hi,

I have only just come across this forum so apologies if I am repeating a question that may have been asked numerous times.
I applied for the Cardiff trainee train driver position at the end of Aug this year and closing date was a couple of weeks later I think.
Had anyone who applied around this time heard anything at all?
Have had a few emails from Acorn letting me know my application is still in a queue / awaiting review etc but curious to know position of others?? Also if you do pass the sift what happens next?

Thanks!

There are quite a few people in varying stages of this recruitment drive including some in the same stage as you, some who are awaiting assessments and some who are already in the talent pool awaiting a start date.

All I can say is to be patient... an already slow process, which is railway recruitment in general, has been made even slower by the pandemic.

The next stage for you if you do pass the initial sift is to go for train driver assessments.

Hi Bradley_246.

I have applied for the Trainee conductor role at Holyhead recently. I have been shortlisted and have just sat my online assessment with OPC.
I am waiting for an email from TFW now to confirm whether I have an interview or not.
Have you heard anything yet?

I applied for Machynlleth and surrounding depots last year. I'm still waiting to do assessment centres for both trainee conductor and driver. No updates from TFW

Ah good luck! Can I ask when you applied/when you heard you had been shortlisted?
Nope I've still heard nothing frustratingly.

Hello again, Thank you very much.

I received an email a week ago today and was then given a link in a separate email to the assessment with a deadline to complete, which was today.
I hope you hear something very soon.

I think I applied at the end of January. I can’t be sure but I think the closing date was the 7th February?

Yeah roughly like that. Occasional run of 6 or 7 days on if you work your Sundays. Long weekend in every three is great.
