Glad i never made the trip to Caerdydd for the supposed final run on Friday now! I'd have been VERY cranky and no amount of Brains would make it worth the treck after such an epic bowl!!
I feel for the lads who made the effort and missed out.

Would be nice if TfW surprised us all tonight and fired up 418 and the rake for one last hurrah up the Valley's..
Mega wishful thinking, i know...

Thanks :D know what the plan for them is?

Paid for until mid May ish on the contract so carriages will remain in store in case TFW had a hyperthetical reason to use them between now and then. After that they will be moved back to Burton and await use for occasional charter or hire purposes in the future. The reality is that there was little prospect of them being called to action again even before the current global crisis. It just covers TFW's backs that it is holding onto an asset that is paid for in the 1 in 100 style scenario several units all became unavailable long term all at once then theoretically there would be 4 units to rob off the weekday Rhymney commuter diagrams. Not at all likely, but the eventuality is covered.
