After selling its Surrey/London bus operations to NatEx owned Travel London, TGM has now surrendered the X27 between Southampton and Portsmouth, latterly operated by low floor single deckers off London route 726.
However, local operator Solent Blue Line (now part of the Go-Ahead group), with help from both Portsmouth and Southampton city council, has stepped in to save the route using Olympians and the brand the "Solent Shuttle" to an hourly frequency.
At least Solent Blue Line has a good chance of making this link work, as they have some Southampton city routes whereas to TGM this was a route well away from thier other operations!
