Just started watching and already I'm thinking 'utter tripe'.
It's got a 'wall of words' a bit like a tag cloud with the bigger font size being most popular issue, tube drivers were the biggest.

What are you thinking so far?

Seems like a good excuse for people to have a rant!

The piece about bus conductors wasn't inspiring.

What is it, some kind of TV Show? Some kind of reality show?
And where did they find enough Bus conductors to feature?

I wonder why Tube Drivers would feature so prominently amongst a program claiming to represent the UK?

It's a live TV show investigating 'complaints', a bit like a less serious version of watchdog with more 'comedy'.

    It's on BBC One now.

I've not seen it, but it sounds like it just needs a few funny shaped vegetables, a talking dog and you've got Esther Rantzen's That's Life (1970's - mid 90's).

It's what they call "Infotainment" :(

As long as they don't have Cyril Fletcher...

Maybe that's where the verb "Rant" came from :)

Blimey, there's about 3 threads on this program already and it hasn't finished yet! Obviouly no-one is watching Bayer Leverkusen v Chelsea (0-1 BTW)

It would be a gently delivered but quietly hard hitting rant with a satirical edge from Esther :)

They invented the phrase Jobsworth, which is a phrase that I've never really understood. It derives from "it's more than my job's worth" to permit something contrary to the Regulations, doesn't it; but what they mean is their job is worth more than the goodwill generated by permitting it, don't they? They fear that they'd be fired if they allowed it. So what they should say is "my job's worth more than that is", although it wouldn't make such a snappy phrase.

Totally agree and Esther Rantzen was much better at it :p

Julia Bradbury used to be on Watchdog with Nicky Campbell but got the "bums rush" before he was replaced by the return of Mrs Robinson.

A "filler" if I ever saw one :p

I watched two minutes of this before turning over to MasterChef.

Appalling quality television - how did it pass a committee?

Cheap tv gets on the airwaves, not good tv. Example: I'm a celebrity [sic]

They use the word celebrity in it's loosest sense

Perhaps it's self-fullfilling because they become famous for having been on "I'm A Celebrity" :)

Ha. 2-1 now after 90 mins, poor old Chelsea :)

I haven't seen that since the John Stapleton and Lynn ("this could be a potential deathtrap") Faulds Wood years !

Caught a glimpse of it last night and thought that it was an inferior version of "That's Life" before deciding that my time would be better spent doing other things.

I decided that my time would be better spent doing other thing shaving seen a trailer for the programme. Ina bout 10 seconds it became obvious that it would be a dumbed down, soundbite filled snore fest presented by talentless empty heads who, rather inexplicably to my mind, keep getting TV work against all the odds.

I spent a very productive hour reasearching digital cameras instead!

For the attention span and intellect "Thats Britain" requires you could easily have surfed and viewed together :p

I probably could have, but I fear that the experience might have ended up very badly for the TV! Although I'm a pacifist, Mr Knowles provokes feeling sof uncontrollable violence within me whenever I see him on the telly. I don't know why. Maybe I need help.

I remember Mr Knowles fronting some sort of Travel Show on Friday Nights a while back on BBC1. It was the same stable of "duds" as "That's Britain". It sank without trace.:p

If they want a proper Consumer Affairs Programme they could do a lot worse than transferring "Money Box" from R4.

Christian Wolmar has said he will be on tonight's show at 1930, discussing overcrowded trains.

    Enjoy...possibly.

I was going to try and force myself to watch this evening's show, but as the start time grows ever closer my resolve is weakening...a lot!

You should watch it to condemn it........it wasn't that bad, better than viewing paint drying .....Just :p

Who knows it may get better - it certainly can't get any worse - can it ?

I happened to catch a few minutes of Points of View on Sunday. The three comments I saw on That's Britain were all very negative!

I don;t think Iwill watch it, I don't want to encourage them.

Ha ha! IIRC, someone said it was more irritating than the issues it was supposed to eb highlighting, and another said it was yet another programem that didn't know what it was doing, who it was aimed at, what it was supposed to achieve, or why it had been made.

    I can't really argue with that. :D

What a load of ill-informed bunkum. I see they've wheeled out self-proclaimed railway "expert" Woe-mar again and those daft comparisons with cattle.
