The Connect Project approaches

London Underground has finally come around to introducing the Connect project to the SSL.

An extra aerial can now be seen on the front of A stock trains (Connect radio aerial), the panels are installed, but are panelled over until the infrastructure is upgraded. As with the C69/77's, these have the aerials, but not all have the panelling.

Watch this space!

What are the aerials for? is there a link that explains the project?

The Connect Project is the new LU radio system. It is a high improvement on the old system ... you are able to use handheld radios anywhere on the network and they hope you will be able to use mobile phones in tunnels, something which is highly contraversial following July.
