After taking my photo of 6E41 at Lifford the other day www.trainpics.net/p64849535.html, I decided I wanted to know more about the history of the line running beneath it. Thankfully, due to the fantastic 'Rail around Birmingham' website, I've found out more than I ever expected. Anyone who is likewise interested to know more about the left hand arch of Lifford viaduct should visit www.railaroundbirmingham.co.uk/Stations/lifford_wharf.php. I'd also suggest a very good scuttle around the site in general as it is a wonderful resource. I've walked the Oxley-Himley-Dudley route and the extra historic information was a pure delight.
