I would like to ask a general question though in the event of a game being abandoned, what will happen to scores at the time etc.

I wondered that myself after Germany vs Portugal. We will have treat the scores as they are at the point of abandonment.

Wow! Four-fold? Thank you for your generosity.

The Euro is doing a good job at being rubbish.

You should take a look at the extra bit I've just added :p

P.S.: I sent you a PM earlier that needs a response tonight.

As it always happens, this round everyone is stumped, then as we all revise our total card count upwards for Round 2, the total comes crashing down.

I think Liverpool England will sit back and it'll be a very dull 0-0

A draw is likely I think. It's just a case of whether the French are strong enough to force backs-to-the-wall play or not. Based on my scoreline, I hope not!

Also, I'm going to miss some of the match - because I'm meeting another TPL player :(

Your Goals count does not match the results you have suggested for Round 2. This is perfectly permissible - but was this intentional?

You may revise the Goals count to 23 if you wish to. This is a straight YES/NO matter and may not be edited in any way other than this one optional alteration.

The first round of fixtures has drawn to a close with three goals in literally a few minutes between the yellow-blues and the yellow-blues. andrew bell took full advantage of this and the 1-1 between the Channel rivals to record an impressive eight points for the day and become the first player to score more than 20 points for predictions - an incredible average of 2.625 per match (almost an entire point greater than the winning score in the Average Prediction League). However, in spite of this performance it is Temple Meads who leads the way, having recorded 17 prediction points and 6 for guessing the Goals Tally to within one, as did gnolife and valenta. atomicdanny rounds out the Title Chasing group at present after scoring 19 points for predictions.

Meanwhile, the Cards bonus winners didn't fare so well. bb21 was the only player to predict a total of even 20, which is itself some way short of the final value of 27, while Chapeltom, newbie babs and sonic2009 were all a further two points behind and claimed three bonus points. In spite of this however, none of the card bonus points winners is currently amongst the Top Four; indeed, amongst these four players, only one has a prediction total into double digits.

I have an average of 1.00 from 8 games. This is the second worst showing from me in a round ever.

Everyone has now entered a set of predictions for Round 2. Best of luck guys.

Round 3 must be submitted by 1600 on Saturday (note that I will be on Fares Workshop duty at the time).
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
andrew bell continues to dominate the predictions, and has thus returned to the summit of the League (at Temple Meads's expense), with yet another five-point haul and a total of six for the day matched only the mainstream competition's Average Prediction League defending Champion Ivo (the only other player to have averaged more than two points per game), although newbie babs also accumulated six on the day after being the only player to not predict a Russian victory over rivals Poland and currently completes the Top Three. SS4 continues to prop up the table.

All players have now accumulated at least ten prediction points, with bb21 being the last to achieve this on account of scoring one point in both games today. The Round card count currently stands at ten and the goal count stands at five.

Incredibly, at this stage no two players have the same number of points for predictions, with every number between 12 and 21 inclusive - apart from 17 - being recorded in the table at present.

With half of the Group Stage games gone, the competition's last zero-less record has finally gone as perenial leader andrew bell failed to score a single point in the match between Denmark and Portugal - only to more than make up for that loss with yet another five-point haul courtesy of Germany's victory over their arch-rivals. He currently enjoys a five-point lead over second-placed newbie babs (the only other player to have scored at least ten prediction points in this second set of matches), with Temple Meads - who sits joint-bottom as far as the second round of matches goes - another two points behind. Meanwhile, at the bottom, bb21 returns to the land of wooden spoons after SS4's improved showing in this second round.

Elsewhere, two interesting statistics have appeared after the most recent match. Chapeltom's three-point haul for the German victory means that every player has now managed at least one three-pointer, while Andrew's loss of his "perfect" record means he now sits with Ivo as being "highly consistent" in having failed to score only once - but note the points difference...

This second round has thus far seen 17 cards and 13 goals. Once again it seems that all players have underestimated just how physical the typical style of play has been, although the goals tally again is closer to players' expectations.
