For a town of it's size, Stamford is pretty poorly served. It has only an hourly service in each direction, the train station is miles away from the town centre and main bus station and even then the nearest main bus route is an 8 minute walk away. Anyway, pressing forward, we next board the 1707 CrossCountry service 1N61 to Birmingham New Street*, arriving there at 1845 on Monday evening.

For our newbies, the minimum connection time here is twelve minutes :)

Thanks you for the warm welcome. :D

Next we take the 1910 Avanti West Coast service to London Euston arriving at 2036.

Don't forget to say what gameplay day it is, just so it helps us plan the next move.

So, arriving at Euston around this time gives us the opportunity to board 1S25, Caledonian Sleeper's 2115 service to Fort William, Inverness and Aberdeen.
Making sure we board the right portion, we alight Upper Tyndrum at 0759 on Tuesday.

Yep, a warm welcome to the game. It's really quite fun, the researching bit can be quite interesting and surprising, especially areas that we're not used to.
If you can just remember to put the arrival destination in bold and also include the day it's really helpful as we quite frequently do lose track of what day we're on!

@-Colly405- i'm so pleased you played that move as I was just typing a similar one - agreed we can't miss the chance for a sleeper!

Yes, you can't ignore those opportunities when they arise!

So, being radical again, I'm quite fancying a long scenic coach ride, so let's walk the 3 minutes to Ardlui Hotel bus stop and there await the 1130 Scottish Citylink service 915. We head to Skye and alight at Uig (Pier) at 1745 on Tuesday.

That's it for the here, so we have no option but to stay overnight. The first departure is at 0630, but that will only take us back to Uig, so we await the next departure which is the 0655 Stagecoach Highlands service 57A.
Noting that the bus stop name implies that we might just have to return the way we came, we alight at Flodigarry (opp. Road End) at 0735 on Wednesday.

Well also we're a little limited here too, so we board the 0955 Stagecoach Highlands service 57A to Uig (Police Station), arriving there at 1028 on Wednesday morning.

We leave here on the next departure, the 1311 Stagecoach Highlands service 57A. We alight back at Portree (Somerled Square) at 1108 on Wednesday.

May as well take a little run on the 1123 Stagecoach Highlands service 58 to Portree, Aros Centre arriving at 1128 on Wednesday morning.
I know it doesn't give us other options, but fills a little time.

Let's walk the 1 minute to the Aros Centre Road End stop and there board the 1158 Stagecoach Highlands service 52. We alight back at Portree (Somerled Sq) at 1150 on Wednesday.

Still a bit limited, it looks like we will have to take the 1310 Scottish Citylink service 916 to Uig, Pier arriving at 1340 on Wednesday.

And now for something completely different, but still just within the rules. It's a 5 minute walk (0.3 miles) to the Ferry Terminal, so with a minimum 10 minute checki-in, we are in good time for the 1410 Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Tarbert (Harris) Ferry Terminal, where we arrive at 1550 on Wednesday.

Helpful note: Make sure you are at the right Tarbert for the next move 8-)

We make the short walk to the bus stop at the car park and wait for the 1625 Lochs Motor Transport service W10 to Laxay Church arriving there at 1702 on Wednesday.

Looks like that's out lot for the evening, so we will return the following morning for the 0625 Alisdair Macdonald service W9 to Stornoway, Bus Station arriving there at 0740 on Thursday morning.

Having missed the ferry back to the mainland, and not wanting to disappear further into the remoteness of Harris (not least as the Rules state that it is not intended that the game gets tied up on these islands for great periods of time) we depart Stornoway on Lochs Motor Transport service W8 at 0915 from Stance 4. We alight at Leurbost (Cameron Terrace) at 0936 on Thursday.

With no departures until mid-afternoon, we take the 1440 Hebridean Transport service W2, alighting at South Shawbost (Grinnivat Rd End) at 1445 on Thursday.

We take the 1455 Hebridean Transport service W2 to Stornoway, Bus Station arriving there at 1550 on Thursday afternoon (and hoping for a ferry crossing...)

We've missed the second (and final!) ferry of the day, so instead we connect nicely into the 1555 Lochs Motor Transport service W10 to Tarbert (Car Park) at 1700 on Thursday, in the hope of getting a ferry from there...

Unfortunately it seems the last ferry leaves at 1550 on a Thursday, so we will have to 1835 Alisdair Macdonald Service W14 to Kyles Scalpay, Township arriving there at 1852 on Thursday.

That's it for the day so we book ahead and return for the first bus of the next day, the 0814 Lochs Motor Transport service W14 back to Tarbert (Car Park), arriving at 0827 on Friday.
If we are aiming for it, the ferry from Tarbert is at 1620. Or 1400 from Stornoway.

Let's head back towards Stornaway for that ferry then, we'll take the 0945 Lochs Motor Transport service W10 to Laxay, Church arriving there at 1022 on Friday morning.

Thought id just break our journey to kill some time and let you get us to Stornoway within the right timeframe :)

From the adjacent Lewis ferry terminal we wait for the 1400 Caledonian MacBrayne service to Ullapool Ferry Terminal arriving at 1630 on Friday.

I thought you'd done that!!!

So, back on the mainland, we leave the Ferry Terminal at 1650 on Friday on Scottish Citylink service 961. We then alight at Garve (Hotel) at 1732 on Friday.
