We exit the station and take the seven minute walk to the bus stop outside the Law Courts, where we board the 0659 Brighton and Hove Regency service 29 to Tunbridge Wells (Monson Road), arriving there at 0803 on Saturday morning.

We take the 4 minute 0.2 mile walk to Crescent Road and board the 0833 Arriva Kent and Surrey service 6 to Maidstone, Rocky Hill (Stop U) arriving there at 0946 on Saturday morning.

We enter Maidstone West station directly opposite, where we board the 1003 Southeastern service 2T21 to Strood, arriving there at 1026 on Saturday morning.

We then take the 1032 Southeastern service to London St Pancras International arriving there at 1106 on Saturday morning.

Disembarking from the high speed platforms, we glance next door and remember which train leaves at 12:00 from Kings Cross. Having treated ourselves to first class, we board the Highland Chieftain and settle down for 6 hours of high speed luxuary. On arrival at Perth, we decide that any further visits to the Highlands might not be too popular, so we get off, the time being 17:58 Saturday afternoon.

We then nip across the platforms and take the 1806 Scotrail service to Edinburgh Waverley arriving there at 1925 on Saturday.

We now board the 19:54 ScotRail service 2T62 to Tweedbank, arriving at 20:52 Saturday evening.

Then we take the 9 minute 0.4 mile walk to Lowood Nurseries Rd End and board the 2124 Borders Buses service 68 to Jedburgh Bus Station arriving there at 2200 on Saturday evening.

That's it for the night, so we go and find somewhere to sleep, before returning for the 09:35 Peter Hogg service 20 to Hawick, at Sainsburys, arriving at 10:02 Sunday morning.
