Absolutely nothing at all occurring here, so we wait for the 2124 Northern service 2C79 to Burley Park, arriving there at 2213 on Tuesday evening.

NOTE : When posting # 23166 was made, it correctly showed the day of arrival as being on Wednesday, but the two following postings # 23167 and # 23168 show the incorrect day of Tuesday, so this posting will show the day as being Wednesday

Being mindful of the eight minutes minimum connection time that applies at this large station, we next board the 0935 Cross Country service to Glasgow Central that arrives there at 1212 on Wednesday afternoon.

We are a bit short of buses here, so not much choice other than wait for the 16:50 Northern service to St Annes on Sea where we arrive at 17:10 on Wednesday afternoon.

PS - sorry for the time-shift in post #23167. Not sure what happened there!

Due to it being a 0.6 mi walk to Blackpool South, we're forced to take a 5 minute walk to Manchester Square on the Blackpool Tramway. From there we'll take the 19:27 tram to North Pier, arriving at 19:32 on a Wednesday.

Edit: My bad

Please add the day that one arrives at in the post (see how I've edited above). Thanks!

We take the 9 minute walk to North station to board the 19:58 Northern service to Heald Green, arriving there at 21:30 on a Wednesday.

As this is the last service of the night to the station, you sleep on a nearby bench and board the 07:23 Northern service to complete your journey to Chester, arriving at 07:42 on Thursday morning.

To avoid retracing our steps I am hoping for a slight relaxation of the five-minute rule, aiming to catch the last First South and West Wales service 103 of the day at 15:30 which will take us to Ffairfach Railway Station where we arrive at 15:52 on Thursday afternoon.

We are in something of a quandary here, as the next train in any direction is the 1712 service to Swansea, a wait of some 80 minutes, so we decide to wait just the 12 minutes for the 1605 First South and West Wales service 103 to Llandybie (Woodfield Road) that arrives there at 1618 on Thursday afternoon.

We are now in a bit of a quandary because the only bus leaving here tonight seems to be the return working of the X2, yet it's not really late enough to settle for the night! Also the only place that this X2 will take us (that has a chance of an onward connection) is Bridgend Bus Station, which is precluded by the rules. I recommend that we take an early night and in the morning walk to John Street and catch the first bus out, which is the 06:35 Stagecoach South and West Wales service 63 to Derwen, opposite Sarn Sainsbury, where we arrive at 07:10 on Friday morning.
