Theresa May to make a statement at 11:15, something the PM only usually does if there is something big to announce. There's rumours she's going to call a general election for the autumn but she's not given any hint of what the subject of the statement will be, Syria and North Korea are the other rumours circulating.

Won't be Syria or North Korea either. I'm going with a general election.

Snap General election as she has a massive lead in the poles... Then loses by a landslide and finds out that she has been trolled by the electorate..

Oh hang on it's Jeremy Corbyn she's facing... Massive majority and end of Labour as an effective opposition.

The eagle eyed Christopher Hope on Twitter has said......

Christopher Hope @christopherhope

There is no official badge on the PM's lectern. Suggests either a general election or a resignation statement

This seems the most plausible to me, from Laura Kuenssberg.

Although I have seen some funny suggestions this morning, from her revealing that she is actually a man through to an announcement that she will be Harry Redknapp's assistant at Birmingham.

The end of the labour party is just a few weeks away.
Unless of course they don't vote for it.

Return of Blair ?

A lot of labour mp's will be at this moment wondering what they're going to be doing for a living in a few weeks because it won't be working as an mp.

Boosting her majority tactic. Labour are in too much of a state to challenge.
However if someone offers to cancel Brexit we might see people voting that

Vote liberal then as they've said that's what they're doing.
Many UKIP will go over to Tory so even the absurd liberals picking up a few seats will be irrelevant.

I know that Labour will be annihilated because of the state they are in. She's clearly doing this to increase her power over the country.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool. This is clearly being done to try and get Brexit through on her terms and limit the influence of any other political party.

Not a stupid thing to do on her part.

Vote liberal then

They've got to target 20-30 Tory seats in strong remain areas. Here in Bolton W; our Brexit-loving Toryboy has a majority of about 800 over Labour and the LD's are nowhere in sight, so I will be overturning 40 years of tradition by voting Labour (normally it's LD but last time it was Tory) to get Green out.

My instant reaction is: Bugger!

When you're the volunteer campaign organiser for a party in a marginal-ish constituency, the last thing you want is an election, no matter who is leading.

Goodbye life, for the next 7-weeks-and-2-days. :(

On her part, no, but it really depends on how voters actually feel. I suppose there isn't much voting choice. You either vote for her vision of hard Tory Brexit, the mess that is Labour, about-to-die UKIP, the we're-going-to-stop-Brexit Liberal Democrats, tree-huggers, or making Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland independent.
