Been informed by a very reliable source that today Thursday the 24th june 2021.
1v98 2257 from Birmingham new Street to Worcester shrub Hill.
Will be calling at Langley green. rowley regis. Old hill. Cradley Heath lye stourbridge Junction. Hagley Blakedown kidderminster Hartlebury droitwich spa and Worcester shrub Hill.
A not so often occurrence off a train calling at most principal stations on this route but direct from Birmingham new Street .
Has anyone else had this recently.
Also brings back memories off when reqular services via smethwick rolfe street went this way back on the 150s way back in the late nineties early 2000 etc.

Covering for the cancellation of the last stopper from Snow Hill (and Dorridge) presumably.
It's the booked route.

Yep 1v98 does go to Worcester foregate as booked.
Via Langley green booked route, but usually only booked to call at droitwich Spa only.
And not calling at any other stn ie Express more or less all the way.
What I meant was calling at all the stops from Langley green to Worcester.
Ie a direct service from Birmingham new Street to Langley and all stops forward!. Instead off from Birmingham snow Hill as usual.
Ie is booked but not often does a service call locally at all off these local stops any longer ie booked direct from new st.
So a rarer chance off this .
Hence it occurred often before 2000.approx it also got moved to Birmingham snow Hill.

The 22:57 is booked via the Galton curve and Kiddy anyway and normally terminates at Foregate then back to depot via Tunnel Junction. 23:00 from New Street runs via Bromsgrove and terminates at Shrub hill.

Anyone know why the 2058 Hereford to New St which forms the 2257 New St to Foregate St runs non stop through Kidderminster and Stourbridge Junc in both directions?

It's a great pity it doesn't stop as there could be some useful long distance connections made.

It's also a bit bizarre having 2257 and 2300 departures from New St to Worcester, presumably to avoid an empty coaching stock working back to Worcester?

Is it because no other New St trains call at Stourbridge and Kidderminster, and to avoid unsuspecting public going to the wrong station?

Hazard a guess it's to fit into a path into BHM, I assume it's only run this way for route retention Galton Jnc to BHM via Soho.
