Hello, I am interested in tickets barriers.

There are two types I'd like more information about, if anyone is able to oblige.

Type 1: locations spotted, Manchester Victoria, Salford Central

Type 2: locations spotted, Kings Cross. Just about everywhere.

Can someone tell me for each:
a) What is the typical unit cost per barrier? (ie. how much does the barrier itself cost, how much does it cost to install etc)
b) What is the throughput per barrier type? (ie. how many passengers per minute can it handle?)
c) Who makes/sells them?

Type 1 are made by Scheidt & Bachmann, type 2 are Cubic Transportation Systems - can't help on your other questions I'm afraid.

Both are in use outside the UK - I saw some of the Cubic gates at Parramatta in Sydney last month, alongside some first generation gates, and S&B ones in Budapest

Edit - on throughput you might be interested in this article - mentions a theoretical throughput of 35 per minute, but in practice less

From experience, the S&B gates are a little slower than the Cubic ones but that is just my observation
