Simple question really, - I am attending an appointment at Guy's Hospital today and will be travelling from St Albans direct to LBG on Thameslink. I intend to get a super off-peak London Thameslink return ticket, but NHS appointments being as they are, it may mean that I am not able to catch the last afternoon train home before the evening peak. I will then need to excess the ticket to travel and in view of my current need to limit my walking, would prefer to do that in a proper ticket office. It isn't clear if there is one at LBG and where it is. Could anybody please advise of the situation there?

There is a ticket office in the lower concourse.

Thanks for the quick response, - is it between the Thameslink platform escalators (p4&5) and the south side door opposite the side entrance in St Thomas St.?

I've attended Guy's myself in the past two years. Best bet is to head south to cross St Thomas Street to one of the major hospital entrances - other entrances are well-signposted from there. On your way back in from that entrance, the ticket office is on the left, roughly opposite the Thameslink escalators. It is well-marked and can't be missed.

Yes, you will walk straight past it going to St Thomas St.

Thanks both John and @mmh , I'll check it out on the way into the hospital. I've travelled through LBG and changed trains there many times, but never actually exited the south side so I will add that to my knowledge today. :D

Thanks to those who replied to my question. Luckily I didn't need to excess my ticket but having seen the ticket office i now know just where it is, (and it's good to see that it hasn't quite gone the way of some others like Paddington where the only conventional ticket office 'windows' are in a 'travel centre' which frequently has inconvenient queues to get to them. In my experience when travelling around London, knowledge of the few remaining ticket offices can be useful.
