Does anyone have experience buying/using these tickets?

http://www.brfares.com/#!fares?orig=BMH&dest=J348&rlc=2TR

Can they be purchased on their own (ie without a connecting rail ticket for the same day)?

Is Bournemouth ticket office likely to sell these without a fuss?

Are Purbeck Breezer drivers familiar with them?

With a railcard, it's a nice saving over the usual fare on the 50

These fares are generally add-ons, sold in conjunction with another ticket from outside of the area in the same way as PlusBus. It would seem unusual for a rail ticket to be sold for a journey completely outside of the rail network (which should be a cue for dozens of examples!).

As requested:
Stoke-on-Trent to Wedgwood/Barlaston
Any travel on a single service that is replaced by a replacement bus
Any Southern or Thameslink ticket

Sorry, nice try but Wedgwood and Barlaston are on the rail network, even if not actively so, and the services are effectively rail replacement buses. I can't accept that rail replacement bus services are completely outside of the rail network.

Apologies, but I'm guessing that's only valid on the train to Wareham and then the bus from there to Swanage.

I don't think that's right, but perhaps someone with access to Knowledgebase can look into it and confirm.

Thanks. That's very helpful.

If I already hold a ticket to Bournemouth, would a ticket office be able to sell this add-on for the same dates as the Bournemouth ticket (in the same way that you don't have to buy Plusbus in the same transaction as the rail ticket, so long as you already have one)?

My understanding (and experience) is no, its not like a PlusBus which can be sold in this way, but an actual destination. Having said that maybe a change of route excess?

Yes should be able to, the ticket is issued as Bournemouth to Swanage Bus as either Single, Day Return, or Period Return depending on rail ticket held.

There used to be what was effectively a permanent rail replacement bus but now it's

We accept valid National Rail tickets on some services due to the long-term closures of Wedgwood, Barlaston and Norton Bridge railway stations. Tickets are accepted as follows:

• Services 13 & 13A - tickets between Stone, Norton Bridge and Stafford railway stations

• Services 14 & 14A - tickets between Stoke-on-Trent, Wedgwood, Barlaston and Stone railway stations

Please note that buses do not stop directly outside Wedgwood, Barlaston or Stone railway stations. Please see our timetables for full details of each route.

http://dgbus.co.uk/tickets.html

Also as mentioned in the Norton Bridge closure thread the rail funding expires at the end of March 2019. From there the government are putting the burden on Staffordshire County Council which could well see the acceptance of rail tickets withdrawn.
