NRE has a specific weather warning about speed restrictions being imposed by NR on some SE routes from 0900 tomorrow. Given that the high winds are forecast across the whole of southern England, why has SE been singled out for this? The strongest gusts are actually forecast to be further SW, but SWR and GTR are not mentioned, despite their many coastal routes.

The routes affect are shown on a SE map, presumably the orange ones - but would it really have been too difficult to include the orange in the key to the map, given that it's the whole point of it?!

SWR are also expecting a 50mph restriction on all lines on Saturday and expecting delays:

SWR on Twitter said:
We have been informed of strong winds of up to 70 mph forecast across the network on Saturday 2 November. Trains will be running at a 50mph speed restriction on all lines. Delays are expected and we advise that you check before you travel

The GTR brand websites have all got amber banners warning about NR speed restrictions for tomorrow and possible delays / cancellations - wordings are evolving, but looks like some services are being removed from the timetables, particularly on the Gatwick Express.

Presumably these will be added to NRE at some point.

I don't understand the question; surely Southeastern are just the first train company to announce it and publish the details?

Perhaps those train companies are just a bit later than Southeastern to announce it, or later at releasing the info to NRE?

That's a large image! Could you provide a link to what you are referring to please? Also if you can provide a text description/summary for anyone unable to view the image that would be great, thanks :)

Eastbourne to London services are chopped in half to an hourly service instead of the normal 2ph. Also looks like Coastway East and West will be affected. Could be fun for Brighton fans heading to Falmer tomorrow if the latter service pattern is decimated.

There is a blanket restriction in place tomorrow affecting parts of the Sussex route. For Southeastern, this affects services at Ashford and Tonbridge. There is currently no restriction on Kent routes. This is why the rest of the network is currently running as planned.

Services starting to be hit as we move into the afternoon. Lewes to Seaford is out of action as the winds have damaged a level crossing near Bishopstone. Uckfield line is decimated and a major power failure on the national grid again.
