Apart from Pontefract, are there any other towns without city status that retain 3 or more stations?

Colchester (North, Town [St Botolphs] & Hythe).

Ipswich if you count Westerfield as part of Ipswich.

And stretching even further, Harwich, Dovercourt & Parkeston Quay (Harwich International)

Blackburn has 5, but I'm not sure if Ramsgreave & Wilpshire is in Blackburn or the Ribble Valley.

Not sure if this counts but Torbay unitary authority includes Torre, Torquay, Paignton, Goodrington Sands and Churston.

Extending to Borough Councils/Unitary Authorities is a little dodgy.*

Gateshead is an odd one: excluding those around the edge of Gateshead Borough, it has three - Dunston, MetroCentre and Heworth - but none serving the town centre!

*but if we're doing that then Barrow-in-Furness has 4: Dalton, Roose, Barrow, Askam

There are four with 'Birkenhead' in the name, and 5 others within the parliamentary constituency.

I'm not sure if Ramsgreave & Wilpshire is in Blackburn or the Ribble Valley.

I was really meaning stations within a town, opposed to including stations in a village outside a town just because it's within the same unitary authority.

Middlesbrough has 5: Middlesbrough, South Bank, Marton, Gypsy Lane and Nunthorpe.

Perhaps even more remarkably, Redcar has 3: British Steel Redcar, Redcar Central and Redcar East.

5 others within the parliamentary constituency.

If you use parliamentary constituencies Stocksmoor would be included as a Wakefield station, despite being closer to Huddersfield and having a Huddersfield postcode.
