You're safe for a few more days yet - but make sure you post any pictures in the right thread!
And therein lies the difficulty. The diagrams thread mentions very clearly ‘no images’. This thread does state images are allowed but as has been pointed out to me in no uncertain terms that it is a thread for ‘Mk5a coaching stock’. I’m still reeling from ‘Locogate’ in the summer;)

Anyhow, I’m going to risk it here. For anyone who isn’t a fan of Derek the Diesel, please don’t click play, or at least fast forward to 34:00 where he’s gone past! In amongst all the cancellations, I hope the video might bring a bit of cheer!

Managed to land on one of these unexpectedly this morning from Leeds. I knew the timetables had changed but didn't spot that the 07:06 has now moved earlier to 07:00 instead. The first new TPE train I've managed to get.

Nice looking train - step up from from the commuter style carriages of the 185 but nice none-the-less.

Sat in the first standard class carriage after the 1st class one, ended up sitting at a table which I normally dislike doing (too much faffing with table legs when you're tall) but the train swallowed enough people that only 1 person sat opposite me anyway.

Much quieter than the 185s, no vibrations through the floor (which was lovely to feel), however as a tall & fat person I found the window table seats to be too cramped.

The seats feel closer to the wall than the same on a 185 (lacking a bit of elbow room at the window), the metal floor heating guard comes out too far into the floor so I couldn't have my feet/legs resting properly on the floor, the seat backs looked too 'upright' (but since I was only on it for 20 minutes to Huddersfield it didn't bother me), the air-con vents at the bottom of the window (whilst a good idea in theory - gets the cold air to your body rather than the floor or ceiling) those vents will be chock full of rubbish, vomit, spilt drinks and damaged easily (any idea if TPE has a plan for sorting out these vents when damage or clogged?).

Also felt like the aisle seat would have been uncomfortable for anyone sitting at the side of me since I ended up partially on that seat. Are these newer seats narrower than the 185s? I never got this feeling on those seats (unless my perceptions deceive me).

I also did feel (as others have said) that the ride is quite bouncy with a bit more rough riding too. TBF I've found this on the 195s as well.

For now I'll take all of these if it means I actually get a seat on these goddamn trains when they're in service.

Well I'm a happy bunny this morning! Just seen my first Nova 3 set 'in the flesh'. Trouble is, it wasn't where I'd expect it. Resolution (and TP08?) was heading east-bound on the Oxford Rd - Piccadilly viaduct at about 8.15 this morning. Does anyone have any idea what service this was?

On Friday 20.12.2019 68022 ‘Resolution’ with TP13 worked the 05:34 Scarborough to Liverpool train as far as Manchester Victoria. The train was terminated there and ran empty to Longsight. The working you saw must have been the empty stock move. Hope that helps:)

TP07 Didn't last long, didn't even make it back to Manchester. Decided to fail between Huddersfield and Stalybridge on the way back causing massive delays.

Since you mentioned it;)

Nova 3 sets: latest dates in traffic (as at 26.12.2019)

TP07 (68023) 24.12.2019
TP09 (68027) 24.12.2019
TP12 (68028) 23.12.2019
TP13 (68022) 22.12.2019
TP08 (68019) 22.12.2019
TP11 (68026) 05.12.2019
TP06 (68028) 28.11.2019
TP04 (68025) 28.10.2019

It seems that most of the sets rotate through being active but TP04 is the odd one out, with TP06 being the other away from the fray for quite some time.

I know that 68025 went back to Crewe for maintenance and I think 68021 took its place with TP04, though not working in passenger service. Similarly 68028 was paired with TP06 prior to moving over on to TP12.

I’m not sure what’s involved with software updates for the stock and loco, but I’d assume both will need to be at the same version in order to work together. The Public Information Screens and automated announcements seem to have settled now but perhaps there are still tweaks in other areas?

Top record keeping, as always @sjpowermac. In years to come, when people are writing historic articles on these trains, you will be the person they need to go to for the gen!
