Bletchley - Piccadilly.... they do pass thro Picc....

I suppose I could divert via the Airport (is that on route?) but it would be a short ride, I'll be up in the North West over Christmas so I'll probably try to get in Preston-Carlisle or something. The nice big well aligned windows should make Shap very enjoyable. Maybe even a circuit back via the S&C, Leeds and another type of Nova.

But this weekend it's about Nova 1 and 3! :)

Still a little confused I'm afraid - are there any Sunday diagrams? (One of the 802 diagrams looks like it'll work best for tomorrow - would be nice to get Mk5s on the way back!)

I found this upthread:
Set 1
1E29 08.56 LIV-SCA
1F66 12.41 SCA-LIV
1E43 15.52 LIV-SCA
1F80 19.44 SCA-LIV

Set 2
9M04 08.25 MCV-LIV
1E31 09.55 LIV-SCA
1F68 13.44 SCA-LIV
1E45 16:52 LIV-SCA
1P42 20.42 SCA-MIA

- is it still current and likely to run this Sunday? The 1241 or 1344 Scarborough to Liverpool looks like it may be the best bet.

I'm travelling back from Huddersfield in a couple of hours time on what should be a Nova 3 (class 68 etc), but I highly doubt it will be with today's signal failure and TPE cancelling all of the Nova 1 and Nova 3's out of Lime Street this morning!

Yeah, any info would be much appreciated, I'm on the 12:56 from Lime Street but the 12:32 arrival appears to be cancelled .
Someone put a photo on Facebook of 68030 on 1E25 ?? I will wait in Leeds for it on the 10-41 return if it makes it that far it's a shambles in Leeds at the moment cancellations late running sitting on the 10-15 to the Cross still in Leeds driver trying to rectify a fault ?? You couldn't make it up it's 801108 + 801104

Does anyone know if the 20:32 Manchester Vic to Leeds is planned to run as a Mk5a today please? It runs through to Scarborough.

God knows, everything to Scarborough is cancelled so far today so unless the 12:25 is an 802 everyone will be squeezed in to a 185. That's my 12:56 to York from Liverpool down the bog. I'm actually meant to be using it just to get to York today. Not out bashing.

That’s a definite ‘no’: on a Saturday 1E51 is booked a 185. I think that whole diagram is cancelled today anyhow.

The one that is running is:
68030 plus TP12
1E25 07:32 Manchester Victoria -Scarborough
1F62 10:41 Scarborough-Liverpool LS
1E39 13:56 Liverpool LS-Scarborough
1F76 17:44 Scarborough-Liverpool LS
1J53 20:56 Liverpool LS-Stalybridge

Eyeball sight of it on 1E25/1F62.

Sunday has been pretty solid for both of those diagrams running: they have produced the past three weekends. Best wishes for getting one tomorrow:)

Thank you for the info though

Are there only limited sets out today as some South TPE services are short-formed?

Anyone know if TPE are hoping to have all the Novas working after the timetable change on 15/12/19?

I should have mentioned that RTT are showing services for 397s and 80xs but not 68s.

It is unlikely as the 397s have only just gone into service. The number of diagrams may step up slowly over the course of the timetable.

The RTT information is only timeing loads not necessarily the trains that will be used. For example some cross country services are timed as HSTs but a Voyager is used.

Back on 8th November whilst waiting for my Euston train at Preston, early morning (7.30ish) - in came 68022 with a MK5 rake. Clearly on test of some kind.

My query is why are they testing this from Manchester - Carlisle? I thought 68's were for Scarborough / Yorkshire services only? Not WCML work?

Purely a guess but if they are doing fault free miles running as opposed to training they will fit them in wherever they can.
