Hello, I have been a long time “lurker” on this forum and have found it very useful and interesting, but I have finally decided to pose a question.

Sorry if this has been covered off elsewhere. I had a look round a few threads but haven’t been able to see anything clear.

When do the TPE routes up to Edinburgh via the ECML start? I know this may have all been held up by Covid-19.

I have seen from sometime later this year there maybe a couple of services a day but, are there plans to get this up and running regularly?

Any information would be great. Thank you.

I think there is not going to be much of a service on this line (other than something like one train per day) for quite some time unfortunately.

Just the 0724 Liverpool Lime Street -> Edinburgh TPE 9S07 service (Mon-Sat) arriving 1149 and that's about it.

According to RTT, there are departures from Edinburgh to Newcastle at 1021 & 1233, with a few ECS moves.

Arrivals in Edinburgh at 1149 from Liverpool and 1547 from Newcastle, again with a few ECS moves.

There are two depots that will still need to keep the route current on their cards.

What does the TPE unit that forms the 1021 (9M10) departure for Newcastle (arr 1152) then get used for on arrival at Newcastle?

Similarly, what happens to the TPE unit used for the 1421 (9S11) service on arrival at Edinburgh at 1547?

Are there associated ECS movements before/after as hinted at by @CAF397 ?

9M10 forms 5E10 to Heaton Depot
9S11 forms 5S11 to Craigentinny

The route never got up to full service. Will be interesting to see how many services TPE restart.

9E10? Is it incorrect on RTT and the Network Rail Working Timetable which had it as 9M10
